Privacy policy
This policy explains what information the WhatsApp giveaway bot (the "Service") collects, why, who receives it and how long it is kept. The Service is operated by DCTech. If this translation and the Hebrew version differ, the Hebrew version applies.
What we collect
- People making a request: your WhatsApp phone number, the name you give (or your WhatsApp profile name), a description of the items, the location you pick on the map, and a second phone number if you add one.
- Ambassadors: name, phone number, base location, and statistics on requests handled.
- Technical data: message ids and delivery status (delivered / failed) reported by WhatsApp.
The Service does not read your messages beyond the steps of collecting a request, and does not use your information for advertising.
How it is used
- To pass your request to ambassadors within 15 km of the location you picked.
- To send you updates about the request and ask whether you were contacted.
- To operate the Service and make sure it works, for example through error alerts.
Who receives it
- Ambassadors: before accepting, an ambassador sees only a general area, the distance and the item description. Your name, phone number and exact location are sent only to the ambassador who accepts the request.
- Meta (WhatsApp): messages pass through the WhatsApp Business Platform, under Meta's terms and policies.
- Amazon Web Services: data is stored on AWS servers in the Israel (Tel Aviv) region, encrypted at rest.
Your information is not sold and is not shared with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- A request is deleted automatically 30 days after it closes.
- A draft that was never sent is deleted after 24 hours.
- Records of outgoing messages are deleted after 45 days.
- Technical backups are kept for up to 35 days, so deleted data can remain in a backup for that long.
- The admin activity log (who added or removed an ambassador) is kept for 180 days.
